The company’s main activity.<\/span> (Crude oil refining,\u00a0 asphalt manufacturing, blending and packaging of mineral oils) in addition to exporting crude oil through the company’s oil port and supplying some oil derivatives needed by the local market.<\/span> Its production units and facilities have been designed in accordance with international standards and have been provided with the necessary means to protect the environment and occupational safety required by the nature of its work.<\/span><\/p>

The main objective of the establishment of A<\/span>zzawiya <\/span>Oil Refining Company is to meet the growing domestic demand for oil products with the surplus being exported to global markets. About the Company<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Azzawiya Oil Refining Company Inc. was established by a decision of the National Oil Corporation and registered in the Commercial Register under No.1572 and began its production in 1974, when the first unit was started with a crude oil refining capacity of 60,000 barrels per day, and in 1977 the second identical unit was added with the same crude oil refining capacity as the first unit. In 1980, the Azzawiya Asphalt Plant was opened, followed by the opening of Benghazi Asphalt Plant in 1984, with a total refining capacity of 200,000 tons per year.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

The company also included a plant for blending and filling oils for the company in 1983, with a production capacity of 60,000 tons annually. The main objective of its establishment was to meet the growing domestic demand for oil products while exporting the surplus to global markets. Its  design kept in view international standards and provided with the means to protect the environment and occupational safety required by the nature of work. <\/span><\/p>\n
